Alben Landscapes has been working for Whitefield Primary School for eight years.
This Liverpool primary school was deemed ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED and has a motto of ‘Nothing but the Best’ – meaning its ethos aligns perfectly with Alben’s own.
Whitefield’s Headteacher Jill Wright believes Alben plays a significant role in the first impression visitors get of the school. “We’re very proud of our school and the exceptional education we offer to our pupils. It is important that our dedication to excellence is also reflected in our outdoor areas, playgrounds, and sports field too.
“Alben are very responsive to developments we wish to implement. The operations director Si Ashworth is always available to discuss our requirements and often visits the site. The site is well looked after and Si makes sure that any additional requirements such as the topping up of the sandpit are done.”
Alben’s Operations Director Si Ashworth says: “It’s a pleasure to work with Whitefield Primary School. Teachers and governors have very high standards and always appreciate the work we carry out, and the children at the school are unfailingly polite whenever we see them.
“We began working for the school around 8 years ago as part of a large SPIE contract and we are responsible for 60,000 sqm of outdoor space including sports fields and amenity areas. We strive to carry out all tasks when there will be least disruption to pupils and staff.
“We take care of planters so there is a bright and friendly welcome for visitors, as well as regular hedge flailing, shrub pruning and weed control. Alben also carries out the cutting and lining of the sports field to make sure it’s up to scratch for all matches and athletics activities.
“In addition, we keep on top of seasonal jobs such as leaf collection, additional wildflower planting, maintaining bark areas, and keeping on top of pathways to ensure they are clear and safe throughout the autumn and winter months.
“The staff and pupils of Whitefield Primary School are rightfully proud of their ‘Outstanding’ school, and to be honest – so are we!”
